May Card Stitching for Spellbinders

Hello fellow card makers. It's the first of May and time for new club inspiration for Spellbinders. The May Stitching Die of the Month Club selection, "Stitched Balloons" is all about celebrations. There are so many different ways you can embellish those amazing balloons too! Scroll down for brief details.

I decided to do some ink blending for this card, and you'll find the full supply list at the end of this post. There are four balloons that will be cut out when you do your die cutting with this card front die, and two balloons that are etched onto the card panel. Because I wanted to ink blend those etched balloons, I cut an extra card panel and used it as a stencil to ink blend over the etched balloons. 

For the remaining 4 balloons, I ink blended those on my craft mat and popped them up on adhesive foam. I also added a layer of Glitter Pops of Color on top of my balloons for sparkle and shine!

I went with tone on tone stitching using DMC embroidery floss 603 and 727.

For my string, I snipped bits of double sided adhesive tape and tacked onto my card panel, using the same embroidery floss that I used for the balloons. I also tucked my string behind the bottom and back of my card panel, adhering there as well.

Spellbinders has lots of lovely sentiment stamps on their site. Unfortunately. I discovered that the Sentimental Greetings stamp set that I used for this card which initially was released back in January, is sold out as of this writing.  It is still available on the Spellbinders UK website though, if you feel like you absolutely have to have it. I really do love that font though. It's so whimsical!

Shamrock Good Luck Card

Hello friends. I'm getting in touch with my Irish roots with this shamrock card today. Plus, it's National Craft Month which gives me a good excuse to break out my Brother Crafts Scan n Cut to create the images for this card. I purchased my Scan N Cut a  few years ago, as a Christmas gift to myself. It's been one of the most loved tools in my arsenal. I typically cut most of my images on a blade setting of 6 for lightweight cardstock. I also generally work offline so this image is one of the standard images included in my machine's storage. No need to get on the internet! I scaled down my image to the smallest size which was about 1.5" or less and added 9 images. I touched the screen to drag the images where I wanted them and then cut.

I also used my negative template to easily line up my shamrocks on my card, popping each one of them up with a small adhesive foam square.

My sentiment was created using a Scrapbookcom exclusive stamp set called Vintage Type Upper. I used my Misti stamp positioner to stamp one letter at a time on white cardstock to spell "Good Luck". It helps to lay down a piece of low tack tape on the cardstock, such as mint tape, to easily line up your letters evenly. My solid papers are from a variety of Scrapbookcom paper pads (Jewel and Floral) and the gingham plaid was from my stash. I thought this card would be great for other occasions, not typical of St. Patrick's Day; graduations and retirements came to mind.

Although we're celebrating National Scrapbook Day, I wanted you to see how you can stretch this stamp set for cardmaking.   I thought these stamps were perfect, to make a graduation card.

A light gray ink pad, an acrylic block and you can easily stamp a criss cross pattern across a trimmed card panel, mounted to a white A2 sized card.  I added a graduation cap die cut image (cut with my Cricut Explore), tassel and die cut sentiment and border, all popped up on foam circles.

Celebrate With Simply Charming Bags

Hello lovely crafters and bag lovers.  I'm partnering monthly, with Miss Denise over at simplycharmingbags.com, the new home for Bunkie Bags and more.  Today's feature is this brand new, custom zip pouch for the Original Misti Stamping Tool.  Oh, but wait.....
