Twilight Winter Moon Card

Hello cardmakers, today's card features lots of distress oxide ink and products from Erin Lee Creative. If you know me, then you know I like to tear paper and lately I've been doing a lot of it. Plus, it's been so hot in my part of the country, I was in the mood to splatter some snow! Scroll down for creative details!

I apologize for the blurry photo below. I realized too late that it turned out blurry and had already moved on to the next step.

All you do is tear some paper, printer paper or tablet paper works best, and simply ink blend above the tear line on your cardstock.  You don't want a perfect tear, try and make it sloped in places if you can.

I also added some ink blending to my moon die cut from Erin Lee Creative. I purchased this die a few months ago and really love it. Making sky cards is something that I really enjoy doing and this incorporates really nicely for that purpose. When I finished ink blending my moon, I also ran my ink pads along the opposite edge of the moon just to help it stand out a little more on the card.

I also stamped a sentiment from the Written in the Stars stamp set from Erin Lee Creative, then fussy cut it and popped it up on adhesive foam.

I splattered a lot of paint all of over my card and moon as well and adhered some white and shimmery sequins from my stash.

I think Erin makes the prettiest sentiments and is so innovative in the products she designs. Stop by her shop, I know you'll find something to fall in love with! Click any of my affiliate links below to go directly to that product for more details or to shop. Thanks for stopping by!

Galaxy Scripture Card for Erin Lee Creative

Hello cardmakers! I was so excited about the new Sun & Moon release from Erin Lee Creative, that there were a couple things I HAD to have. Also, today is the last day of the Mother's Day sale at ELC. Use coupon code MOM2023 at checkout for an extra 20% off on your entire purchase. Ends tonight at 11:59pm CST!

When I saw the Moon die and the Written in the Stars stamp set, I immediately pictured a galaxy night sky background for these images. It's been awhile since I made a galaxy card, so I decided I needed a refresher on the technique. I found a really easy tutorial on Youtube by Kristina Werner and set out to implement those steps. It was super EASY!

I trimmed some of my Altenew watercolor paper to an A2 sized panel and broke out my Altenew pan watercolors. I began by painting random colors, one color at a time.

I ended up with a patchwork of different colors on my card panel.

Next, I painted on the black watercolor paint. Kristina painted hers in a circular motion, so I followed suit, painting randomly but allowing color to still peek through in places.  I actually wished I had added on additional layers of black as it wasn't as dark as I really wanted it but, that's ok. I'll try that next time. I did blot with a paper towel here and there if I felt like the paper was too saturated.

For the stars, Kristina recommended transferring the water spritzed white paint to an acrylic block and flicking the paint off the edge of the block with the paintbrush. It worked incredibly well and I'll definitely be trying that again.

I ended up trimming down my A2 painted panel a bit and layering with black cardstock on my card. My moon die was cut twice, once with white cardstock and then with black cardstock. I adhered them together so the white is offset just a bit behind the black moon. It gives kind of a light effect, like the shine of the moon.

My sentiment was heat embossed, stamping with Versamark clear ink several times using my Misti stamp positioner, then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set with my Ranger Heat tool. I fussy cut it and popped it up on adhesive foam, along with the moon.

I adore scripture stamps and this card just makes me so incredibly happy. The universe is vast, and everything in it!
