Shamrock Good Luck Card

Hello friends. I'm getting in touch with my Irish roots with this shamrock card today. Plus, it's National Craft Month which gives me a good excuse to break out my Brother Crafts Scan n Cut to create the images for this card. I'm also using products from Scrapbook.com Scroll down for brief creative details. You'll find products linked at the end of this post as well.

I purchased my Scan N Cut a  few years ago, as a Christmas gift to myself. It's been one of the most loved tools in my arsenal. I typically cut most of my images on a blade setting of 6 for lightweight cardstock. I also generally work offline so this image is one of the standard images included in my machine's storage. No need to get on the internet! I scaled down my image to the smallest size which was about 1.5" or less and added 9 images. I touched the screen to drag the images where I wanted them and then cut.

I also used my negative template to easily line up my shamrocks on my card, popping each one of them up with a small adhesive foam square.

My sentiment was created using a Scrapbookcom exclusive stamp set called Vintage Type Upper. I used my Misti stamp positioner to stamp one letter at a time on white cardstock to spell "Good Luck". It helps to lay down a piece of low tack tape on the cardstock, such as mint tape, to easily line up your letters evenly. My solid papers are from a variety of Scrapbookcom paper pads (Jewel and Floral) and the gingham plaid was from my stash. Here's a link for you to scroll, if you'd like to check out the current gingham 6x6 paper pads offered at Scrapbookcom: Click Here

I thought this card would be great for other occasions, not typical of St. Patrick's Day; graduations and retirements came to mind.

I shared a short reel on my Instagram and TikTOK, featuring this card. I hope you'll follow me on those sites, if you're not already!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Terri

Floral Negative Hot Foiled Cards

I've got a pair of floral hot foiled cards today that featuring negative foiling and splicing, using Pinkfresh Studio products available at Scrapbookcom. Scroll down for creative details plus product links at the end of this post.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

I've had this hot foil plate called Peony Print in my stash for months and finally broke it out to play, using my Glimmer Hot Foil System and black Platinum 6 die cut machine. These two Spellbinder machines go hand in hand when hot foiling. When my Cuttlebug die cut machine died several months ago, I decided to purchase the black Platinum 6 that's a Spellbinders/Scrapbookcom exclusive product.

It's one of the best investments I've ever made. I had foiling issues with an older Big Shot that a friend gave me but the plates were warped and I was not getting good results. I'm glad to say, that is not a problem anymore, with my gorgeous black beauty!

I had in mind to hot foil in black and white, then trimming sections of each foiled card panel and mix them up.

As the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz says, "these things must be done del-i-cate-ly"!

This also requires the use of a solid hot foil plate.

First, use the black hot foil with the Peony Print hot foil plate on white cardstock with your Glimmer machine. Run the entire platform through the Platinum 6.

Next, use the negative foil piece and hot foil with the solid hot foil plate and white cardstock and again, run the entire platinum through the Platinum 6.

After foiling, stack the card panels carefully making sure the blooms on the left edge match on both card panels while stacked. This may require a little trimming to get them both to match.

Next, trim the right edge, top and bottom so both card panels line up properly.

I proceeded to trim just the top section from my white hot foiled card and placed it over the top portion of the black card panel to make sure the bottom edge of the trimmed peonies from that section matched the black foiled card panel.

Luckily, it did! You may need to do a little more trimming to get it just right. I lined up the remainder of my uncut white card panel so it's stacked and even with the bottom of my black card panel. and trimmed the reminder sections through my sliding trimmer, while stacked.

After that, it was just a matter of lining them up on a white vertical A2 card and adhering the mixed pieces. I love the effect, like a spotlight technique. My foiled ephemera sentiments were an exclusive product created for Scrapbookcom in collaboration with Pinkfresh Studio that was only available for a limited time last year but you can easily pop on your favorite stamped sentiment or die cuts.

I also added some silver glitter Pops of Color for embellishment. These cards are so sparkly and shiny in person and I absolutely love them!

Thanks so much for popping in. You can find most of the products that I used below, if you'd like to do some shopping. See you next time!

Terri

Bunny Shaped Card

It's that time of year, Spring card making! It's also National Craft Month, so I whipped up this fun shaped card featuring nested dies from Scrapbook.com. Scroll down for a few tips. You'll also find products linked at the end of this post and a coupon code!

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

For this project, I pulled out my Nested Peep dies from Scrapbookcom.

I used two different sizes, one that measures 5.8 inches tall and also 4.1 inches tall for this project.

To begin, I top folded and scored a 5.5" card from white cardstock, placing the top edge of my 5.8" die off the top scored edge, then ran this through my Platinum 6 die cut machine.

I also cut a panel cover for my white card using the 5.8" die  and some pretty patterned paper from my stash. This paper I'm using is from the retired Mad For Plaid Happy collection from Photo Play Paper. I've linked a very similar collection of papers at the end of this post, but you can definitely use what you have.

I decided I wanted my bunny card to have feet, so, using my leftover die cut scraps, I placed my dies in such a way to just use a portion of the ears on white cardstock and the plaid as well. I chose white for the larger die, and plaid for the smaller die.

I used scissors to cut the off  the tips of the die cut ears, layering them as pictured below, and adhering them flat to the base of my card front. I think they look so cute, and the fact that I was able to use my dies to get this effect was a definitely a bonus!

For my bunny eyes/nose, I used small 3L black adhesive circles and applied some of my scrap pieces of Spellbinders black foil on top. If you have any small white adhesive foam circles, these will work with the black foil as well.

If you have neither of the above, you can use a hole punch and simply punch some dots from black cardstock and adhere. I do prefer the look of dimension and symmetry that the adhesive foam offers though.

Lastly, I brought out my hot glue gun to adhere that pretty pink ribbon and white button to embellish. I hope you find time to get crafty this month. There are so many things you can do with this die set and there are lots of samples in the scrapbookcom gallery, here. You may need to create an account or be logged in to view the gallery.

Today only, Mar. 6th, get 8% off your entire order using coupon code FUNDAY5364 at checkout. Visit the coupon section and add today's free gift (with purchase) to your cart as well. Available while supplies last.

Thanks so much for "hopping" by today! Happy National Craft Month and see you next time!

Terri

Spellbinders March Stitching Die Club Card

Has your home decor ever inspired your cardmaking? Today's card for Spellbinders features the new March Stitching Die of the Month Club selection, I'm taking a cue from my latest mug. Scroll down for details! You'll find products linked at the end of this post as well.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

I recently purchased a tea mug with a removable infuser insert. I've recently become obsessed with all things tea, and this gorgeous rainbow speckled mug was the inspiration for my stitched card.

All my stitching die cuts and elements were made using my Platinum 6 die cut system. I love using the  variegated DMC embroidery floss and chose complimentary colors that were featured on my mug. I actually cut several of the background dies with different colored cardstock before settling on the terra cotta background panel as the base.

I also framed my card with some ink blended blooms from the Sealed Wildflowers die set. All my stitching elements are popped up on adhesive foam and my sentiment, from the Sentimental Greetings Clear stamp set was ink blended on the edges and popped up on double adhesive foam.

There are 4 dies included with this month's stitching club selection and I've used 3 of those dies on this card. You'll find most of the products that I used linked below. Just click any of the affiliate links to go directly to the product for more details. I absolutely love the stitching club and I hope you'll consider joining. You can cancel or restart at any time, no obligation! I think you'll love it too.

When do you find extra time to stitch? I keep a little tote bag ready and toss in what I need when I'm headed to appointments. I finished up all my stitching while waiting to see the doctor for a check up. I find it to be super relaxing as well. I'd love to know when you squeeze in those extra moments to stitch.  Tell me in the comments!

Terri

Spellbinders March Quick and Easy Card Kit Makes

I'm sharing my cards that were created for the March Spellbinders Quick & Easy Card Kit of the Month Club release. I love the elements in this months theme titled "Bee Yourself.  It's not just about bees though. You'll find elements to make birthday cards, encouragement cards and more! These kits have been selling out every month so Spellbinders is switching things up a bit to accommodate current subscribers who will get first crack at this release that bills on the 5th.  The window for new subscribers will open on March 6th.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

There are sooo many gorgeous patterned papers in this set.  My favorite patterned paper was used on the card above. I thought the bees would pair nicely with all those large, bold floral images. I used the following elements included in the kit: ephemera, patterned paper, puffy stickers, sequins and cardstock stickers in addition to the white card and yellow cardstock panel.

When I saw that gorgeous cake die cut, I knew I wanted to make a birthday card. I stayed within the soft pastel color scheme, using the papers, panel, puffy stickers and ephemera. By the way, there are lots of foiled accents on some of the images, including that pretty scalloped strip.

After laying out all the die cuts before me, I spotted some elements that I knew would make a fun little scene. I trimmed some of the blue and dark green cardstock panels and adhered them to my card as my base. It was super easy to place everything in this scene and it came together quickly which is always a bonus!

When I saw the rainbow and clouds, I knew I wanted to make a friendship/encouragement card. I layered a variety of trimmed pieces of patterned paper on the bottom half of my card, then placed my rainbow and clouds above, using the sequins like raindrops. I know. I'm a genius. Haha.

I hope you love this kit as much as I do. This is just a small sampling of what you can do with this kit. You can find more samples by searching #spellbindersclubkits on social media.
Click here to view all the club options this month. I'll be back to share my creations using the new Stitching Die of the Month club kit as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Terri
