Strawberry Cupcake Celebration for So Suzy Stamps

Hello my crafty friends.  I've been participating in The Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin, and recently colored up this fabulous image from the new release this month at So Suzy Stamps.  Isn't that cupcake delectable?  The stamp was designed by my teammate Olesya Kharkova.  She is so talented!  After coloring this image, on a kraft card (which I ended up turning into a scalloped die cut), I couldn't wait to fashion it into a pretty card.

(Please note: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my
convenient affiliate links.  This does not affect your purchase price.)

Some details:  I heat embossed my image with white embossing powder, then colored with various brush markers, including Marvy Le Plume II and Zig Real Clean Color Brushes.  I used a white gel pen to shade my cupcake liner, as well.  To make the strawberry seeds pop, I used the fine tip of my black brush marker to dot over the white embossing.

To get that fluffy white and pink icing, I first colored it pink, then used a fine tipped paintbrush dipped in white acrylic paint and outlined along the embossed swirls.  A damp waterbrush helped to spread the paint just a bit and give that milky, creamy finish.

Lastly, I added some dots of more white paint and added pretty rainbow sequins.

I hope you like this fun project.  I've provided convenient affiliate shopping links below, if you see something you'd like and wish to shop.  I appreciate you stopping in today!  Terri

Cupcakes and Sprinkles with Two Paper Divas

I've got another project for you, featuring one of the new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas.  It's called, "Yes To Sprinkles".   There are four sentiments in this set and it's all about Sprinkles, Sparkle and Shine!  I love this release, because the sentiments are appropriate for many different occasions, as you'll see from the graphic at the bottom of my post.

I thought this sentiment would pair perfectly with the new DCWV Confetti stack.

I wanted the word "Sprinkles" to stand out, so first I swiped a pink Tombow Dual brush pen over that word only, and stamped onto the cupcake paper.  Next, I inked my entire sentiment in black and stamped again.  It really makes the wording stand out, stamping with duplicate colors.  I love that the Two Paper Divas stamps are clear because it makes it so much easier to do this.

I also made a slit with my craft knife, on both sides of the cupcake liner, then ran ribbon through the back of my cardstock, pulling through to make a bow.  Isn't it adorable?  I love it!

Take a look.... fabulous sentiments, right?  I adore the fonts, too.

Don't forget the challenge that ends soon.  You have until the 27th of March to link up to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  There's a $20 gift certificate up for grabs!.

Cupcake Celebration For Two Paper Divas

I've got another fun project today, featuring the Cupcake Border stamp from Two Paper Divas.  A couple weeks ago, I made some planner stickers (link to post), using the same stamp set and thought I would use some of those stickers for today's card.  It's one of the brand new February releases at Two Paper Divas and I've quickly fallen in love with this stamp set.

Mixing geometric designs is really trending and I love it, so, as you can see, I've done that today with papers from My Mind's Eye and banner tags from Little Paper Studio.

I made a cute little banner flag from this paper straw and accented it with my Cupcake sticker and enamel dots from Recollections.  Two Paper Divas has a ton of digital sentiments and I've used one of those today as well.  I'm totally diggin' this colorful card!

Making Planner Stickers With Two Paper Divas

I was so excited to receive the brand new stamp set, "Cupcake Border" from the February release at Two Paper Divas.  Being on the design team, I never know what they'll send me to play with, although we are encouraged to let the Big Dogs know our favorites.  The cupcake border?  Yup.  One of my favorites.   I've got to say.... I have quickly fallen in love with every set of Two Paper Divas Stamps.  They stamp so clean and crisp, every time; they're super versatile as well, which leads me to today's project.  Using this set as a border is a no-brainer, so let's do something fun and different;  STICKERS!

Craft planners are super hot right now and numerous companies have dedicated entire lines of product to planners and accessories.  I'm on numerous design teams and yes, I have to have a planner or I'd lose my mind trying to keep up with everything.  Making it decorative and fun is an added bonus!  Below, I've stamped and colored a couple rows of my cupcake border.  You can do this on plain cardstock, but I thought it would be fun to use up some scrap paper so I grabbed this Adornit blender paper and stamped on the diagonal line, which is kind of cool to have some extra pattern on the cupcake liners, don't you think?

If you don't want to fussy cut each image, then just use a little circle punch or trim out squares around your image.  It really was quick work cutting out my images.  Now, I love my Xyron sticker maker.  I have several sizes but the 2.5" is perfect for this little project.  I just crank my images through the machine and they come out fully adhered, edge-to-edge, onto this sticker paper.

Now, I can toss this entire sheet into my planner pocket and decorate it for birthday reminders or other party events.  But, don't limit yourself there.  Use these as little embellishments on your other craft projects or to decorate your monthly calendar at home or work.  Let the kids do something fun with it!  Are you a craft seller?  Good golly, make up a bunch of these and sell them!  You can really deck them out with bling and glitter glue if you wish.

Here's an entry on my planner for later this month.  Perfect!  As you can see, I added some "sprinkles" on my cupcake, using a white gel pen.

I hope you've been inspired to think outside the box with your stamps.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

*If you don't have a sticker maker, just run adhesive across the bottom of your cardstock before fussy cutting, then place your "stickers" on wax paper or scrap leftover sticker sheets for storage.  (I save ALL my leftover sticker sheets.  They come in handy for so many things!)

Cupcake in Color

Happy Friday!  It took long enough to get here, didn't it?  Well, I have some new stamps I'm breaking in from So Suzy Stamps  and am featuring the Skinny Swirl cupcake stamp.  There are SO many ways you can use this.  Plus, There are a few fun challenges I plan on entering my card into and I'll list those at the end of this post.

But first, I decided to do some heat embossing in white, and then get crazy with yellow and pink watercolors, using my Tombow dual brush pens.

I started by heat embossing the image with Versamark clear ink, white embossing powder and my heat gun.  Next, I blotted my large acrylic block with the yellow and pink markers, then added water and colored my cupcake.  When I was finished I took my colored image and watercolor paper and smooshed it onto the acrylic block, getting those excess watercolors all over my paper. and then blotted some of the watercolor onto a tissue to help it dry quicker.  It's a fun technique and I highly recommend it if you want to get out some aggression, haha.

I added some Neon Flamingo Stickles in places, just for a little fun embellishment and glitter as well.  I also did some blending around the cupcake base for added dimension using Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress ink and my blending too.  You can see that I did some ink blending all around the card as well, using Colorbox Pinkolicious.   For the inside, I stamped a So Suzy stamp sentiment and added some embellishments.  Such a fun card.

I'm entering these challenges:

Additional supplies:  Queen & Company pink striped trendy tape, May Arts Ribbon yellow bakers twine, We R Memory Keepers Shine yellow cardstock, Ranger Glossy Accents, DecoArt Glamour Dust in Crystal, Thermoweb Zots, Tombow Xtreme adhesive runner, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Close To My Heart black dye ink, Ranger white embossing powder
