Christmas Colors and Foiling

Hello friends, today, I'm up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today, showing you how to take partial stamped images and turn them into 3 dimensional foiled elements.  I'm using the 3D Creative Foam Embellishment kit with this adorable stamp set from Neat & Tangled, called Christmas Pageant.  You'll find many of the products that I used, available in clickable shopping links at the end of this post.

Easily Create Colored Crepe Flowers

Hummingbird Card And Blog Hop

Today's project is a collaboration with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Hero Arts.  Both design teams have come together to create for this one day event.  And, there are prizes from both companies!  Woo-hoo!  Be sure you visit both company blogs to enter.  The theme for this event is seasonal (summer, graduation, 4th of July, etc.) or general (birthday, thank you, friendship, etc.).  I'm going with summer and creating this pretty hummingbird card featuring the Hero Arts Hummingbird stamps and dies.  Plus, I've got a one minute technique video, showing you how to color glue, so stick around for a few minutes!

First, let me share some creative details.   To begin, I trimmed a piece of watercolor paper and used a masking technique to stamp a flower border with the blooms included in the Hero Arts Hummingbird stamp set.  I've used the Hero Arts Intense Black Ink Pad for all my base stamping, along with my Misti stamp positioner.   Next, I stamped and die cut my hummingbird with the Hero Arts Hummingbird Frame Cuts dies.  All my coloring was done using watercolors by swiping my Zig brush markers onto a craft mat and using a water brush.  This allowed me to mix and blend colors for my hummingbird and flowers.  You'll find a full list of product links at the end of this post.

I love getting super creative so I decided to try and color my glue and make faux paint splatters.  I've got a 1 minute video below that shows you how to do that.  So easy!

For the center of my flower blooms, I wanted some dimension, so I dotted glue from my Scrapbook Adhesives dual tip glue pen, then sprinkled some of my Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I did this in batches, to prevent my glue from drying too quickly before I finished all the blossoms.  My beautiful scene and coordinating coral cardstock are adhered using my E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.  The 3D Foam Squares White Mix help to pop up my hummingbird and give dimension.
