Patriotic Coffee Card

I was perusing Instagram this weekend when I stumbled across Brennan Keane's IG page. He's celebrating 2000 followers on Instagram and having a challenge and giveaway. The challenge is to post a project that uses a product from any of the giveaway sponsors. I chose Pretty Pink Posh and Ranger Ink. One of my favorite die sets is the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Mug. I've been wanting to create a coffee themed patriotic card, so I paired it with some products from my stash. 

I created mug die cuts in solid white and patterned paper from the Photo Play Paper "Land That I Love" collection. I colored in some coffee with OLO Marker OR3.7 on the white die cut, prior to adding my patterned paper overlay.

I don't have much in the way of patriotic sentiments, but I did have the retired Erin Lee Creative stamp set, Stars & Stripes. I did some masking of my sentiment, to stamp 2 different colors of Catherine Pooler ink in Midnight and Rockin' Red. This technique really requires the use of a stamp positioner.

I also added lots of sparkle on my firewords with sponsor Ranger Ink Stardust Stickles, then finished off my embellishments with some red and white twine. Pink and Main, another sponsor of Brennan's challenge has a very similar twine. Mine has been in my stash forever and I don't even remember where it came from, haha.

Patriotic Gnome Card

I'm hopping on here to quickly share this patriotic card for several challenges.  This features several Photo Play Paper collections that I'll mention below with included affiliate shopping links! I do receive a small commission if you make a purchase, at no cost to you. ❤

For my gnome from the Tulla and Norbert stamp set, I did some serious masking and extended Norbert's arm so he can properly salute the Pledge of Allegiance.  I also stamped on a sticker to paper piece his hat. The stickers and paper collection are from the Land of the Free collection. The masking would not have been possible without my mini Misti! 

Pumpkins, Spice and Coffee!

Hello lovelies.  As of this writing, it is hot as heck fire, here in the deep South.  This crafty chic is anxiously awaiting cooler weather, as Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.  As far as I'm concerned, Fall card making begins in August.  Maybe it's wishful thinking that I can somehow hasten Autumn's arrival.  So be it!

I've had these delicious seasonal papers from Photo Play Paper, sitting silent in the madness known as my crafty domain.  I also heard that Starbucks is about to release Pumpkin Spice Lattes in their shops for the season.  Well, that's all I needed to hear.   I'll share some brief, creative tips below, as well as details on the ever so awesome 20th Anniversary Celebration going on over at Scrapbook.com.  You don't want to miss it!

As much as I love stamping, there is very little on this project.  I'm letting the papers, die cuts and ephemera shine today.  I'm featuring the Fall Breeze  collection from Photo Play Paper and you'll find links to most of the products, at the end of this post.  I also used that adorable polka dot paper from the Photo Play Paper Trick or Treat collection.  I love that both collections have papers that are interchangeable for seasonal projects.

To incorporate my Pumpkin Spice Latte theme onto my ephemera word bubble quote, I masked and stamped the words SPICE and LATTE from the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Pumpkin Spice, using my Misti stamp positioner and Catherine Pooler ink.

The mug and whip die set is from Stephanie Barnard Stamps of Life and is called 

Hot Chocolate.  It works wonderfully as a mug of yummy Pumpkin Spice!  For my whip, I ink blended the edges with more Catherine Pooler ink, then added some puffy paint, real candy sprinkles and orange colored glitter.  My background was blended with Ranger Ink and distress splatters.  I love how it turned out!
