The Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps design team is thrilled to be hopping along with the My Sweet Petunia design team and featuring the star product from Iliana Myska and the MSP product line, the Misti stamp positioner. I've been an avid user of the Misti for several years now. I've used it for many techniques over the years but mostly, just in day to day stamping. I thought I would share several projects that I've made over the years using the Misti (at the end of this post) with a link to the project and the technique that I used. But first, there will be two winners. One will win a $50 shopping spree at www.mysweetpetunia.com and another will win a $50 shopping spree for Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps - you must leave your comments at each stop on the hop no later than Friday, August 24th, at 11:59 PM Central
time. Winners will be announced the following Tuesday on the My Sweet
Petunia blog and on Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps on August 31st.
But first, I feel that it's so important to get the basics. So many stampers and crafters still don't know what the Misti can do and how it can be used. I was one of those stampers! Today's project features the newest release from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps which includes Harry Potter stamps designed by my friend and teammate, Tracy McLennon. I'm using Wizarding Hat, Lightning Bolt Set of 3 (includes the eyeglasses), Wand and that wonderful quote, Believing In Yourself.

If you're new to stamping, what is the one thing you need to know about the Misti? You will never have a dull stamped image ever again. I can't tell you how many times I would use an acrylic block and if there wasn't enough ink, I didn't get a good image. That means I have to do it again. And again. And again. So much cardstock and paper wasted. Often, I still wouldn't be happy with the inked image and would just toss the whole thing and give up.
In the image above, I've stamped 3 times. I recommend at least 3 inkings for best image. All you have to do is use the magnets to hold your paper down. If I'm going to color, I usually use mixed media paper or watercolor paper. Today, I'm using my oxides and a waterbrush to color, so I chose mixed media paper. Lay your stamp face down on the paper. Now close the lid to your Misti. It will grab the stamp and lift it off the paper. This is when you add your ink to your stamp. Now, close your lid again, pressing the inked stamped onto your paper. Press down good, all over.
As you can see in image 1, my first inking wasn't very clean and crisp. I repeated the steps above and inked a second time. Maybe a little better, but, by the 3rd inking, it looks fabulous! This is what I'm talking about! No more wasted paper, no more tossed projects. For the money you would spend on a nice meal, you can solve all your stamping issues! I use the mini Misti the most because a lot of my cards are A2 size and for my small craft space, this is perfect. Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps offers many Misti products in the online store, along with a ton of other supplies (inks, stencils, etc) for one stop shopping. If you're wondering what's holding my paper down in the photo above, it's the Misti bar magnets. LOVE THEM! The Misti comes with two small circle magnets but I prefer the bar magnets. It will even hold down thick rubber, such as my mirror image stamp. I wrapped my bar magnets with washi tape with excess tape at the ends for easier grabbing.
Here's a few of my favorites from the past using the Misti:
Spring Card with Bleach Technique (mask/bleach technique)
Making Quick Multiple Cards (repeat stamping for multiples cards)
Masking on Kraft Paper (mask and offset stamping technique)
Last one, I promise!
Christmas Card with Silhouette figures (Misti is a MUST for silhouette stamping! Gives crisp, full ink every time!)
Sorry for such a lengthy post! As you can tell, I love Misti products!
