Day 1 of The Daily Marker Coloring Challenge

I'm sharing a second project today, this colored image for The Daily Marker Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin on Instagram.  I've been participating for several years in these fun challenges that are month long events, held several times a year.  It help to stretch those creative coloring skills and there is so much inspiration during these challenges that really get my creative juices going.

This is Stella the Mouse and she was signed by one of my favorite artist/designers, Lindsay Ann Ostrom.  This is one of 12 images in the Sweet Animals Adornit Art Play Paintables collection, that was released just a few months ago.  As a former Adornit "It Girl", I love sharing my love of Adornit and you will find a few affiliate links scattered about, if like me, you have to have this!  I think Stella is simply precious and I've colored her with my Tombow dual brush markers, swiped on an acrylic block, then grabbing the color with my water brush to paint.  Simple and fun.  I've added some chevron stenciling with a DCWV stencil and sponged on some white pigment ink.

The purple splatters in the background are from a former project where I had spritzed ink onto a large piece of cardstock, and salvaged a piece.  I also created a flag border sentiment with Adornit washi tape used for the sentiment.  Pretty, simple and fun!

I'm also sharing this project at Simon Says Stamp for their Monday Challenge "Based on a Book".  This sweet mouse reminds me so much of the beloved children's book, Angelina Ballerina and I thought it would be perfect for entering this challenge.

Believe in Magic Skittles New Release/Challenge

It's week two of the brand new release of the DoubleClick Skittles,
"Believe in Magic" collection.

Plus, we're having a challenge as well.  Be sure to link up your Disney or Mouse themed project to our challenge by 8/4/15.  You do not have to use Skittles to link up.  Look for the challenge on the right sidebar here and be sure you read the challenge rules.

So many vacationers head to Disney every summer, and I thought it would be fun to create something functional to store your tickets, receipts, pressed pennies, etc., all in one place.  You can even attach your collectible Disney pins along the sides of this fun, playful passport.  When you get home, you can scrap your saved items.

My fused passport or pocket holder, has a flap with a Velcro tab so you can slip your tickets, receipts, etc. into the back of your passport.  I decorated the outside of my flap with punched circles that were adhered with an adhesive runner.  I've used my We R Memory Keepers Fuse for so many of my Skittles projects; the two really go hand in hand.  And, the stretchy May Arts Ribbon was the perfect "lanyard" to hold up my fused passport.  Toss it around your neck and go!

Have you tried Skittles yet?  These are just as delicious as the candy, only they last longer!  These fun little bubble embellishments go perfect with all your projects.  They're great for blinging out just about everything from cards to frames to mirrors and more.

Click on the photo below to purchase the new Believe in Magic Skittles for just $4.00.  That's a 3 pk with 25 skittles per bag plus FREE SHIPPING in the USA!  Paypal is accepted too.  Bonus!

Here's a quick glance at how I made my fused passport, starting with an 8x8 page protector I had laying around.

Before you fuse the flap, be sure you trim off the backside, to allow for an open pocket.

Next time, I'll leave just a tad more room, perhaps about 1/4 to 1/2" on the sides, as it was a tight squeeze after I embellished my memory page and slipped it back in.

I love these new Skittles so much, I'm going to have to order more from Carri before they are sold out!  They are hot, hot, hot!

Believe in Magic! New Skittles release and Challenge!

Welcome to a brand new challenge at DoubleClick Skittles, and.....

a brand new release!

DoubleClick Skittles Challenge #26 - Disney or Mouse

7/22 - 8/4

*New Release - "Believe in Magic" Skittles

We are so excited about Carri's new release, Believe in Magic.  It's the PERFECT embellishment for all your Disney, Mickey Mouse projects, Pirates of the Caribbean  and more!

Aren't these new colors fabulous?  Don't forget - each batch is hand made and new releases sell out fast so if you are even thinking about ordering, don't wait!

Today, I've created a self-closing box, using my Cricut Explore and papers from the Simple Stories Say Cheese 12x12 paper pad.

This is such a fun box.  All you do is press the sides together and it pops open.  I re-sized this box to approx 6"x10".   I'll share where you can find this file in my supply list at the bottom of this post.

I had so much fun deciding how I would use my Skittles.  I punched out some circles from my designer paper to make the mouse embellishment and added Skittles to the ears.

I also fussy cut the main image here, popped it out with foam squares and added more of the new  Believe in Magic Skittles.

These fussy cut balloons are added to my main image and decorated with more of these bubbly jewels!  I've added some May Arts Ribbon bakers twine for balloon string, as well as the red natural string behind the mouse ears.  Those fun little curly circles are stickers from SRM stickers.

This was such a fun project to make.  I absolutely love it and I adore how magical the new Skittles are!  I hope you fall in love and try some for yourself.

Don't forget to go here to purchase the new Believe in Magic Skittles.

Enter the new challenge here, and be sure to read the rules of the challenge.
