Challenge #38 - Something New

Dec. 23 - Jan. 5

My "something new" is a gift.  Valentine's Day is just around the corner and this fun card could definitely double as a Valentine or Thank You card.

I'm featuring the brand new release, Frosty Kisses, using the Frosty Skittles, as well as Cranberry Skittles.

The little mouse was cut with my Cricut Explore, using the Winter Frolic image.  The pretty papers are from We R Memory Keepers, Inked Rose collection, and finished off with lovely May Arts Ribbons.

DoubleClick Skittles Challenge - Something New

Welcome to a brand new challenge at DoubleClick Skittles!

Challenge #38 - Something New

Dec. 23 - Jan. 5

So what's my "something new"?  Why, fresh, newly fallen rain, of course.  Don't you just love the smell of fresh rain?  I do.  Especially in the Spring, when it mixes with the smell of fresh cut grass..... mmm.... And, there's nothing like being a kid and stomping in the rain and puddles.  Those were good times.

I'm using the Frosty Blue Skittles from the newest holiday release, Frosty Kisses.  This card is a real beauty in person, let me tell you.  My edges were inked with Ranger Faded Jeans distress ink and the raindrops are a digital image from Creativebug.   I used the Print and Cut feature of my Cricut Explore, then accented with Glossy Accents, to give my rain that "wet" look, adding a few "droplets" of Skittles.

The umbrella is also a free digital file that was offered up by Jillibean Soup.  I love how this umbrella turned out!  I used Ranger Fossilized Amber, chalk ink, liquid pearls and more Glossy Accents.

Snowman Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to Week 2 of the newest challenge at DoubleClick Skittles!

Challenge #37 - Use a Snowman

Dec. 9 - Dec. 22

For this project, I'm using the new Holiday Traditions bubble embellishments. You can purchase both of the new releases, Holiday Traditions and Frosty Kisses, right here:

I like to upcycle, particularly since I seem to hold on to EVERYTHING!  So, I grabbed this medium size kraft bag that I had received in a craft order awhile back and embossed with my Cuttlebug and Tim Holtz Merry Christmas embossing folder.  I inked the raised sentiment with my Hero Arts Green ombre ink, then used a sponge dabber for white chalk ink snowballs.

This cute snowman is a sticker from K&Company and I adhered it to white cardstock and fussy cut it, so I could pop it out with foam squares and it would hold it's shape better.  I placed my Rudolph Red Skittles bubble embellishment on old Frosty's scarf.

I added an olive green faux burlap ribbon border using my May Arts Ribbon, then added a strip of DCWV cardstock which coordinated nicely with my Holiday Traditions Skittles.  Did you know that all the new newest Skittles have sparkle?  Yup.  They're kind of awesome, that way.  I usually use clear glue to adhere my Skittles but you can always use adhesive dots as well.  Sometimes, I add a touch of Stickles glitter glue with my drop of clear glue, for that extra wow factor.

New DoubleClick Skittles Challenge- Use a Snowman

Welcome to the newest challenge at DoubleClick Skittles!

Challenge #37 - Use a Snowman

Dec. 9 - Dec. 22

For this challenge I used the new Skittles Christmas release, Frosty Kisses, specifically, Frosty and Frosty Blue.

You can purchase both of the new releases, Holiday Traditions and Frosty Kisses, right here:

I used my Cricut Explore and the digital Frozen cartridge, using the Print and Cut feature, to cut out Olaf and that ever-so familiar phrase.  If you have kids, then you probably know every song in the movie!

I placed the Frosty Blue Skittles on the snowflakes below.  Did you know that all the Skittles in the new release are sparkly?

And, the Frosty snowflakes on these pretty, glittered snowflakes.
